Adult Pickleball Camps Our monthly, four-hour pickleball camps can help you improve your game by focusing on a specific skill set. Also, our camps give you an opportunity to play with and meet other players whose skill level is similar to yours. Our pickleball director Jeff Onuschak is a state-recognized master teaching professional. He has taught over 1200 pickleball enthusiasts how to play and improve their game. Jeff started teaching pickleball in New Jersey in 1989 and further honed his trade when he also began teaching and playing in Florida in 2002. He prides himself on providing conventional and non-conventional approaches to teaching pickleball while providing private and group lessons, pickleball camps and drill and skill sessions for beginners to advanced players.
Greg Del Favero, Elite Pickleball Instructor
Highlights:
Pickleball instructor Greg Del Favero is a 4.5+ pickleball player and former all American tennis player. Greg transitioned to playing and teaching pickleball at a very high level. He is a student of the game whose major teaching focus is with playing pickleball the right way. Greg’s playing experience includes medaling in both men’s doubles and mixed doubles tournaments. He joined Monroe Sports Center after teaching pickleball lessons and clinics at a New Jersey fitness center. Greg is an intermediate-to-advanced level specialist who also coordinates and runs Pickleball camps at Monroe Sports Center. Greg prides himself in teaching all levels of pickleball players, and his teaching methodology brings out the best in all his students.
Scott Forest, Pickleball Instructor
Highlights:
Scott is Monroe Sports Center’s sports psychology expert who can help recreational and tournament players with their focus and motivation techniques for success. Scott is MSC’s resident “aggressive play” expert. If your approach to pickleball play is an aggressive, fast-action style, Scott is the MSC teaching pro for you. Scott focuses a majority of his lesson time on proper form for skill mechanics and repetitive success, with the awareness that repeating proper form leads to more consistent and controlled shot making.
Ralph Shearer, Pickleball Instructor
Highlights:
Ralph Shearer is a former USTA tennis player and coach who transitioned to playing pickleball a few years ago. He’s been in love with the sport ever since. Ralph has dedicated himself to honing his pickleball game and now coaching others to do the same. Ralph’s pickleball proficiency and enthusiasm for the sport helped his son Derek train to become a PPA professional tour player. (Check out Derek Shearer Pickleball on YouTube!). Ralph has traveled around the country playing pickleball, gaining experience in different states and locations. A clinic or lesson with Ralph will be a fun and rewarding experience as he teaches pickleball the way it is supposed to be played.
Carolyn Dardani-Horensky, Pickleball Instructor carolynd@monroesportscenter.com
Carolyn Dardani-Horensky is focused on creating pickleball “learn and play” programs for juniors (ages 9-17) at Monroe Sports Center and instructing beginning pickleball players of all ages. She will also assist with MSC’s pickleball tournaments, league play and social events. Carolyn brings a high-level of enthusiasm, professionalism and patience to the court as she helps developing pickleball players learn how to play the game. When she’s not playing pickleball, you can find Carolyn teaching people to drive. For the past 12 years, she has been a certified driving instructor and owner of a local driving academy.
