January 15, 2016 Dear MSC Junior Team Tennis Players, We hope you are enjoying this season of the MSC Junior Team Tennis League. We are approaching the USTA portion of the season, and we wanted to explain the format and procedure for these USTA JTT matches. The USTA portion of the season is a separate season, where the teams must be realigned to conform with the USTA Team Tennis format. USTA breaks their Team Tennis League down by age: 12u, 14u, 16u. The USTA Team Tennis format includes 5 individual matches per team match. Those matches are: boys singles, girls singles, boys doubles, girls doubles and mixed doubles. There are NO additional fees for this portion of the season. These matches were included in the price at the beginning of the season. All players in the MSC Junior Team Tennis League will be broken down into new teams and placed into a new league. These new teams will be made up of players at only each specific age group. These teams will then compete in a new league where each team plays 3 matches. The winner of each league will qualify for the USTA Team Tennis District Championships at their age group. MSC would like to give the teams that qualify for the District Championships the best shot to compete with the other teams. With this in mind, MSC will be forming 1 all-star team at each age group. The selection of this all-star team will be based on individual results throughout the MSC JTT season as well as the results from the USTA JTT Selection Match described below.
