Monroe Sport Center's 10-week, evening pickleball leagues start in June!! Additional leagues start in September.

Exciting news!!! Monroe Sports Center is adding 10-week, evening league play to its organized, open-play pickleball offerings.

Our leagues will be 10-week programs (one-night-a-week) for men and women. Our leagues will be for

3.2-3.7 level players. They will be open to the first 16 players to sign up.

Summer league programs will begin in June and will run through August.  Our fall leagues begin in September and will run through November.

The cost for 10-weeks of league play will be $125/person.

Individuals can also sign up to fill in as subs for regular players who aren’t available on a given week. Registered subs will pay $10 for nights they play. Please contact jeffo@monroesportscenter.com to put your name on the substitute list. You will be contacted if or when we need you to sub in for an absent league

player.

Prizes will be given to players who accrue the top average scores during the league play period.

Q&As Regarding Our Pickleball Leagues

How will pickleball league sessions be run?

We will have 16 players playing on four courts.

You can expect to play around five games a night with a different partner assigned to you for each game.

Over the 10-week period, every league player will be paired with each of their fellow league players.

Games will be played to eleven points, meaning the first team to reach a score of eleven wins the game.

League play is scheduled from 7-8:30 p.m. in the summer and from 8-9:30 p.m. in the fall, but players

who have not completed their last game to 11 points at the end of the league night may have the

opportunity to continue playing past that time to complete their game.

A Monroe Sport Center pickleball instructor will supervise each league night.

League players will be expected to respond to a weekly email they will receive from Monroe Sports Center

each week asking them to confirm (or decline, if necessary) their attendance for that week.

How will prize winners be determined?

Prizes will be awarded to players with the highest game score average at the end of 10 weeks of league play. Your scoring average will be adjusted and provided to you each week.

What prizes will be awarded to top league players?

Prizes will include free fall league play at Monroe Sports Center for the player with the highest average

score and merchandise for others. Prizes will be awarded at the end of league play.

What happens if I am not available to play during a given week?

If you can’t play on a given week, you must let us know by responding to the weekly league attendance

check-in email you will receive from Monroe Sports Center weekly prior to each league night. Of course, we will appreciate hearing from you as far in advance as possible about any planned absences.

Please avoid “no-show” absences! “No-shows” absences (that is, when you miss a game without notifying us in advance that you won’t be there) will create unwelcomed issues for our staff and your fellow players.

When you inform us in advance of your absence, we will attempt to find a sub for you (so that we maintain our 16 players for the night), or you can ask an appropriate level sub to play-in for you. Your sub’s score may not count against your average, though.

Subs will be charged $10/night to play-in for absent players. Contact jeffo@monroesportscenter.com if you are interested in being added to our sub list. You will be contacted when / if we need you to fill in for a missing player.

Absences you tell us about in advance--up to three missed weeks--won’t count against your total average score for the league period. If you miss more than three weeks of league play, then your total game average will be adjusted downward accordingly.

Can I get reimbursed for any weeks I may have to miss?

No refunds can be given for missed weeks. You could recruit a sub to fill-in for you and ask your sub to reimburse you directly for a night of play.

What happens if I sign up as a sub?

You may--or may not--be asked to sub-in for players who are absent during a given night of league play. Because won't know prior to the start of a 10-week leagues or a given week when or if league players will be absent , we can't tell you in advance how many times you might be called on. And it's possible--depending on how many subs and absenses we have--that you may not be called on to sub at all. We will give you as much advance notice as  possible about when we need you to sub-in. If you are asked to sub, you will be charged $10/night to play-in for an absent player. Subs will play-in for fun. Their game points won't count toward a missing player's league average. Contact jeffo@monroesportscenter.com if you are interested in being added to our sub list.
