The cost for 10-weeks of league play will be $125/person.

Prizes will be given to players who accrue the top average scores during the league play period.

Individuals can also sign up to fill in as subs for regular players who aren’t available on a given week. Registered subs will play for free! (They will not be qualified for prizes, though.) Please contact pickleball director Jeff Onuschak at jeffo@monroesportscenter.com to have your name put on the substitute list. You will be contacted if or when we need you to sub in for an absent league player. Include your mobile phone number in the email you send to Jeff. Q&As Regarding Our Pickleball Leagues

How will pickleball league sessions be run?

We will have 32 players playing on eight courts. You can expect to play around five games a day with a different partner assigned to you for each game. Over the 10-week period, every league player will be paired with each of their fellow league players. Games will be played to eleven points, meaning the first team to reach a score of eleven wins the game. (The winning team does not need to win by 2 points.)

Players who have not completed their last game to 11 points when a weekly league session concludes for the day or night may have the opportunity to continue playing past that time to complete their game if there is a court available at that time.

A Monroe Sport Center pickleball instructor will supervise each league session.

League players will be expected to respond to a weekly notification they will receive from Monroe Sports Center each week asking them to confirm (or decline, if necessary) their attendance for that week.

How will prize winners be determined?

Prizes will be awarded to players with the highest game score average at the end of 10 weeks of league play. Your scoring average will be adjusted and provided to you each week. We will also post the score averages of the top 8 players on this website under the tab "League Standings".  Subs will not be eligible for prizes.

What prizes will be awarded to top league players?

A valuable "specific free play at Monroe Sports Center" prize will be given to the player with the highest cummulative score and merchandise will be given to others. Prizes will be awarded at the end of league play.

What happens if I am not available to play during a given week?

If you can’t play on a given week, you must let us know by responding to the weekly league attendance check-in email you will receive from Monroe Sports Center weekly prior to each league day. Of course, we will appreciate hearing from you as far in advance as possible about any planned absences.

Please avoid “no-show” absences! “No-shows” absences (that is, when you miss a game without notifying us in advance that you won’t be there) will create unwelcomed issues for our staff and your fellow players.

When you inform us in advance of your absence, we will attempt to find a sub for you (so that we maintain 16 players for each week), or you can ask an appropriate level sub to play-in for you. Your sub’s score may not count against your average, though.

Subs will play-in for free for absent players. Contact jeffo@monroesportscenter.com if you are interested in being added to our sub list. You will be contacted when / if we need you to fill in for a missing player.

Absences you tell us about in advance--up to three missed weeks--won’t count against your total cummulative score for the league period. If you miss more than three weeks of league play, then your total cummulative score will be adjusted downward accordingly.

Can I get reimbursed for any weeks I may have to miss?

No refunds can be given for missed weeks.

What happens if I sign up as a sub?

You may--or may not--be asked to sub-in for players who are absent during a given night of league play. Because we won't know prior to the start of a 10-week league or a given week when or if league players will be absent , we can't tell you in advance how many times you might be called on. And it's possible--depending on how many subs and absences we have--that you may not be called on to sub at all.

We will give you as much advance notice as  possible about when we need you to sub-in. If you are asked to sub, you will play-in for an absent player. Your game points won't count toward a missing player's league cummulative score and you won't be eligible for prizes. Contact pickleball director Jeff Onuschak at jeffo@monroesportscenter.com if you are interested in being added to our sub list. Include your mobile phone number in the email you send to Jeff. (See above for playing levels required for each league.) Subs will play for free.
