Q&As Regarding Monroe Sports Center Season Court Rentals:
Season courts can be booked by current-year season court holders starting February 1st prior to the start of the September-May or October-March seasons, and starting March 1st by all other players. Season courts book up quickly--so don’t wait too long to book your group’s desired day and time!
Each group’s captain will be responsible for providing a list of all group members (along with their email addresses and phone numbers) and court needs to Monroe Sports Center, ensuring that group members pay their $50 deposits and season court rental fees, receiving communication from the Center, and reinforcing club policies and procedures to group members. Also, group captains should let Monroe Sport Center know if court fees will vary (instead of being the same) for individual group members.
Each group member will be expected to pay Monroe Sports Center a $50 deposit fee immediately after their court is first reserved by their group captain; members will be expected for to pay their remaining court costs before or by September 1, 2022, for 26-week season courts, and before or by August 1, 2022, for 36-week courts. Members can call Monroe Sports Center at 609-426-4000 or stop by the Center’s front desk to provide payment. The Center will not invoice members for these charges, but it will provide a receipt of payment once payments are made. Cash, check or credit card payments will be accepted.
It’s possible to book season courts for fewer weeks than the regular season and have your court pro-rated accordingly, if courts are still available after the season begins. Contact our Monroe Sports Center if you have this request. If your group needs to drop out or withdraw altogether from play after the season begins, the Monroe Sports Center reserves the right to not refund your group’s payment for a season court.
Monroe Sports Center will not be able to refund money to individual players who drop out of a group after a season begins. Refunds can be issued to members who decide to withdraw from the group before the season begins – but the remaining group members will be expected to cover any unpaid court fees created by these refunds. If a group wants to replace a departing member with another, the team captain should inform Monroe Sports Center of this action.
Ideally, groups should have enough members to ensure they have enough players for weekly games when a member is absent. Substitutes may be used on a limited basis if needed.
That may be possible if the desired court time is open and if the group gives Monroe Sports Center adequate notice.
Credits or make-ups days due to weather conditions or other uncontrollable events will be determined at the sole discretion of MSC. Make-up days may be given if courts are available. You can contact Monroe Sports Center about the possibility of rescheduling your group’s game.
News Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day (July 4th), Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the Friday after Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
The net of a basketball goal hangs high but slightly over the right side (when standing at the serving line while facing east) of courts 6 and 8. While these nets don’t usually interfere with most pickleball rallies, occasionally they do. When this happens, most players agree to a “do over” of these rallies. We offer discounts on these two courts for this reason.
