Q&As Regarding Monroe Sports Center Season Court Rentals:

  • What if my group doesn’t want to--or can’t--play the entire standard season? Can it book seasonal courts for fewer weeks at a reduced rate?

It’s possible to book season courts for fewer weeks than the regular season and have your court pro-rated accordingly, if courts are still available after the season begins. Contact our Monroe Sports Center if you have this request. If your group has already contracted and paid for an entire season and then needs to drop out or withdraw altogether from play after the season begins, the Monroe Sports Center reserves the right to not refund your group’s payment for a season court.

  • My season group would like to continue playing on its indoor season court past the official end of the 26 or 36 week season (that is, past March or April). Can it do that?

Yes! It is possible to extend your season court time beyond your 26 week or 36 week court contract time for a pro-rated. Contact Monroe Sports Center if you have this requests.

  • What are group captains responsible for?

Each group’s captain will be responsible for providing a list of all group members (along with their email addresses and phone numbers) and court needs to Monroe Sports Center, ensuring that group members pay their $50 deposits and season court rental fees, receiving communication from the Center, and reinforcing club policies and procedures to group members. Also, group captains should let Monroe Sport Center know if court fees will vary (instead of being the same) for individual group members.

  • Can an individual join a group after the court rental season has already started? Or, what happens if a paid member of a season group needs to drop out of the group? Can the group replace this member with another?

Monroe Sports Center will not be able to refund money to individual players who drop out of a group after a season begins. Refunds can be issued to members who decide to withdraw from the group before the season begins – but the remaining group members will be expected to cover any unpaid court fees created by these refunds. If a group wants to replace a departing member with another, the team captain should inform Monroe Sports Center of this action.

  • Is it okay to use substitutes for occasional absent players?

Ideally, groups should have enough members to ensure they have enough players for weekly games when a member is absent. Substitutes may be used on a limited basis if needed. There are no additional fees for subs.

  • Can a group change its weekly playing time on occasion, if desired?

That may be possible if the desired court time is open and if the group gives Monroe Sports Center adequate notice.

  • What happens if Monroe Sports Center is closed or not accessible during a day our group is scheduled to play? Will there be make-up days?

Credits or make-ups days due to weather conditions or other uncontrollable events will be determined at the sole discretion of MSC. Make-up days may be given if courts are available. You can contact Monroe Sports Center about the possibility of rescheduling your group’s game.

  • What holidays does Monroe Sports Center close for?

News Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day (July 4th), Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the Friday after Thanksgiving, and Christmas.

  • How close are the basketball goals to discounted courts 6 and 8?

The net of a basketball goal hangs high but slightly over the right side (when standing at the serving line while facing east) of courts 6 and 8. While these nets don’t usually interfere with most pickleball rallies, occasionally they do. When this happens, most players agree to a “do over” of these rallies. We offer discounts on these two courts for this reason.

  • When / how do I reserve a season court for NEXT season, which starts after September 2023?

Daily and season court rentals for the 2023/24 season (September 2023 onward) will be handled by The Pickleball Club at Monroe. The Club have 10 new dedicated pickleball courts at this facility starting September 2023. For more information about the Club, click here: http://www.monroesportscenter.com/monroe-pickleball-llc/
